Katie Soulen
Owner / Stylist
(She/Her)RATE: $125/HR
I’ve been working in the industry since 2013. I studied at the Aveda Institute in Washington DC. I believe in continuing education & working with fellow artists as often as possible. Folks I’ve learned from include Jayne from Edo Salon, April Kayganich, and Lo Shabino. I am a cutting specialist, as well as a master colorist.
I love to do razor cutting, curly cuts, & intuitive cutting. Haircolor is another passion of mine, with a focus on lived-in looks and customization. I’m all about hair health & realistic, achievable-at-home care.
I’m inspired by old loves, the natural world, horses, Goddard’s films (& his muses), & Greek mythology.
Originally from Maryland, I’m not a Pittsburgh native, but I’ve fallen in love with this community.
My other loves are the woods, my cat, family, & laughing as much as possible.

Allie Bee
Manager / Stylist
(She/Her)RATE: $120/HR
I’ve been working behind the chair for about 10 years, & relocated to Pittsburgh from Phoenix, Arizona, in February 2021.
I’m inspired by nature, international travel, early rave culture, B-horror movies, & the more-than-occasional reality TV show.
I love to do balayage, blonding, corrective color, vivids, & clipper cutting.
When I’m not at work, I’m hanging out with my dogs, tending to my houseplants, cooking, & planning my next adventure.
I’m excited to explore Pittsburgh & meet new friends!

Cassie Stevens
Stylist
(She/Her)RATE: $120/HR
I have been working in the beauty industry for over a decade.
I find my greatest inspiration from nature. I love creating lived-in color from natural to vivids, and easy to maintain haircuts that grow out seamlessly between visits.
I crave education and love learning in this ever-changing industry. This year I took a deep dive into curly education + razor cutting to learn how to create more softness and movement in my haircuts.
When I’m not in the salon you can find me teaching yoga, cooking something delicious, or planning my next adventure.

Mary Terrett
Stylist
(They/Them)RATE: $115/HR
I’ve been doing hair professionally for about 3 years, but I’ve been obsessed with hair since I can remember.
I’m from a small town in Ohio, but I’ve lived in Pittsburgh my whole adult life and I love this little city very much.
All I really wanna do is make people feel the most like themselves, however that might look. I love cutting hair the most and finding ways to accentuate natural textures, low maintenance styling, and using color as an extension of personal style.
I’m inspired by my friends, freaky people, puppets, and hot goths.
In my free time you can catch me stomping around the city, eating some delicious dinner and watching my stories. Or loving on my friends, beating them at Pictionary, and talking about the universe.

Margaret Eros
Stylist
(She/Her)RATE: $115/HR
I’ve been in the industry since 2017, when I attended the Aveda Institute in Indianapolis. As a Pittsburgh transplant I’ve worked behind the chair, as a bridal stylist, and most recently a cosmetologist and esthetician instructor.
I’m so excited to be behind the chair again. I love all things hair, but I especially look forward to big transformations. I love a killer short cut, a swishy little bob, and lived-in color that grows out well. Most importantly, I love the way that expression through hair can make someone feel like their most authentic self. I’m inspired by the earth, art, the people around me, and education.
When I’m not doing hair you’ll find me at home with my fiancée and our cats or somewhere out in nature. I love playing games with friends, painting or making something, and having a little treat.
I hope to meet you soon!

Maya Gleue
Stylist
(She/Her)RATE: $110/HR
For nearly a decade, I’ve immersed myself in the art of hairstyling, specializing in bold transformations, including perms, eccentric coloring, and razor cuts. My goal is to make every client feel confident and inspired by their look.
With a strong focus on curly and wavy hair, I’m dedicated to crafting styles that celebrate and enhance natural texture. As well as helping each client develop a manageable routine at home.
When I’m not behind the chair, you’ll find me enjoying music, diving into a good book, or spending quality time with my cats. I love going out dancing and supporting the local drag scene, which fuels my creativity and inspires my work.
I draw inspiration from the vibrant world of drag, the creativity of my fellow hairstylists, and the colorful patterns found in nature—from plants and animals to the intricate designs of insects. My mission is to bring out my clients' most expressive selves.

Molly Dagnal
Salon Coordinator
(She/Her)Hello, many of you know me already from my time behind the chair at Halcyon! But if you don't, my name is Molly, and I’m born and raised in Pittsburgh.
I did hair full time for 8 years before I decided to retire and pursue higher education full time. I hope to finish my associates by spring 2025 and move on to a bachelors program.
My interests are either sociology or political science, with a slight interest in pursuing law school as of right now. But who knows, that could always change. I’m working the front desk for the time being, and you can see me assisting the stylists from time to time! Keep your eyes open because I’ll occasionally open my books!
When I’m at work or doing schoolwork, you can find me hanging out with my friends, reading, playing video games, and horseback riding!

Justin Bender
Stylist
(He/Him)RATE: $120/HR
Based out of New York City and growing up on the east coast (NJ, NY, PA) I always found fashion to be about self-expression and not just about fulfilling societal standards. I take that sentiment with me when creating work with others. My goal is to help people break social norms so they can feel their best, truest, most confident self.
My specialties are precision cuts, highlights, and lived-in looks. For me, grow-out is just as important as the day you get your hair done.
I pull inspiration from the Bauhaus movement, daily meditation, textiles, and the part of my brain that doubts myself.
My work has been published in Paper and Ladygunn magazines.
